The Engineering Department is responsible for the design and construction of public works projects and provides oversight for development, including subdivision and certain building permits. The department is responsible for environmental permitting of city facilities, infrastructure planning and mapping.

Engineering also provides design and contract administration for other city departments and the Urban Renewal Agency when they are working on projects such as trails, restrooms, building maintenance projects or public infrastructure development.

Meet the Staff
  • Jackie Fields is the city engineer who provides oversight of the airport and Public Works and Engineering departments.
  • Jon Caton is the public works director who provides oversight of the Public Works Department, city shop and wastewater treatment plant operator, including pre-treatment / industrial permits. 
  • Troy Vitek is the assistant city engineer who provides oversight of development, FEMA and design.

Plans, Forms, and Maps

Because planning is integral to quality and consistent construction of public works projects, the City of Twin Falls Engineering Department frequently updates - and makes available to the public - most of the department's plans, forms, specs, and maps. For a list of the most current plans and forms, please see the links below:

Open BIDs and RFQs

Interested parties may also review a current list of open BIDs and RFQs requested by the City of Twin Falls Engineering Department here. Individuals or organizations that are interested in responding to BIDs or RFQs are encouraged to review the 2015 Idaho Standards for Public Works Construction, which was adopted by the City of Twin Falls on Oct. 7, 2016.
