[ARCHIVED] Street Resurfacing Begins Tuesday in Northeast Twin Falls

Slow Down Sign

Contractors with the City of Twin Falls will start resurfacing streets in northeast Twin Falls with Chip Seal beginning Tuesday, July 9 through Saturday, July 13. The project will require traffic restrictions, detours, and brief closures on city streets in northeast Twin Falls, which can be viewed on the city’s website here.

The contractor, Emery, Inc., will apply the Chip Seal by spraying emulsified asphalt oil onto the road surface and then covering the oil with rock. Heavy rollers then press the rock into the oil, forming a new street surface that helps extend the life of the roadway.

Work will take place from approximately 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Citizens are asked to avoid work areas and to use alternate routes during chip seal placement. Drivers are also asked to slow down when driving through work areas, and to be aware of loose gravel that can damage vehicles.

Questions regarding this project should be directed to Emery, Inc. at 208-733-3951.
