The Twin Falls Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at the 1700 block of Manzanita Street at approximately 7:30 a.m. Friday, May 10.
On arrival, firefighters with Engine 2 entered the multi-story residence that had heavy smoke coming from the front door. Crews found that the fire had spread from the kitchen to the living room of the residence, and that all of the occupants were able to exit the residence without serious injury.
Engine 2 began knocking down the fire from the inside, while crews with Engine 1 attacked the fire from the exterior of the residence. Engine 3 arrived to establish a water supply and assist the other crews.
The fire was under control at about 7:50 a.m., after which firefighters conducted additional searches to confirm
One adult female and two children were transported to St. Luke’s Magic Valley Hospital. The adult was treated for minor smoke inhalation and burns to her hand, while the two children escaped the fire without injury. No firefighters were injured.
The Twin Falls Police Department and Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office assisted with traffic control. The cost of the fire damage is estimated to be approximately $50,000. The cause of the fire is being investigated by Twin Falls Fire Marshal.
