The City of Twin Falls Youth Council is hosting a rally and color run/walk to highlight teen suicide prevention at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 18 at the Twin Falls Visitor Center.
The community is encouraged to show their support by attending the rally “Life is Worth Living” at 9:30 a.m., and to participate in the color run/walk that will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Onsite registration for the color run/walk will begin at 8 a.m., or residents can register online at tfid.org by going to the Parks & Recreation Department page and selecting ‘Register for Activities.’ The registration cost is $5 for students and $10 for adults. T-shirts are no longer available so participants are encouraged to bring a white shirt.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month and the Youth Council organized the event to raise awareness about the five steps of teen suicide prevention, which are:
1. Ask
2. Keep them safe
3. Be there
4. Help them connect
5. Follow up
