[ARCHIVED] New Four-way Stop and Restriping at Canyon Springs and Fillmore Street

Road Construction

Beginning Wednesday, May 8, the City of Twin Falls will be restriping the roadway and installing new four-way stop signs at the intersection of Fillmore Street and Canyon Springs Road.

It’s expected that the installation will create short-term lane closures and delays. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the intersection if possible, or to allow more time for travel through the project area. Installation and restriping is expected to be completed by the end of the day.

Questions or concerns regarding the project should be directed to the City of Twin Falls Public Works Department at 208-736-2275.

Drivers are reminded to be aware of the new traffic change, and to remember the following when approaching a four-way stop:

First come, first served: The first car to arrive at the intersection receives the right of way.

Yield to the right: When two vehicles arrive at a 4-way stop at the same time, and are located side-by-side, the vehicle furthest to the right has the right of way.

Straight over turning: When two vehicles arrive at a 4-way stop at the same time, and they are located head-to-head and one of the vehicles intends to turn and the other intends to go straight, the vehicle going straight has the right of way.

Right over left: When two vehicles arrive at a 4-way stop at the same time, and they are located head-to-head and one of the vehicles intends to turn right and the other intends to turn left, the vehicle turning right has the right of way.
