[ARCHIVED] Shoshone Falls Grade Closed at Gate Due to Hazardous Driving Conditions

Hazardous Roads

The City of Twin Falls has closed Shoshone Falls Grade beyond the ticket booth, and both Shoshone Falls and Dierkes Lake parks are closed to vehicle traffic. Wind gusts blowing mist from the falls onto the roadway, and freezing temperatures in the canyon, are creating hazardous driving conditions on the roadway.

The Twin Falls Police Department, Parks and Recreation Department, and local towers assisted vehicles on Wednesday, which became stuck at the bottom of the grade in the early morning.

Shoshone Falls Grade will be reopened when road conditions have improved. All vehicles are reminded to not go beyond the closed gate. Pedestrians are also asked to avoid the grade until it is reopened.

Question regarding the closure should be directed to the City of Twin Falls Parks & Recreation Department at 208-736-2265
