The Twin Falls Festival of Lights parade and tree lighting will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30. To ensure the safety of parade participants and spectators, there will be several temporary road closures in Downtown Twin Falls.
The Festival of Lights parade route will begin at Main Avenue and Fairfield Street, and will end at the Twin Falls Commons at Main Avenue and Hansen Street for the Christmas tree lighting at 7 p.m. Santa will join the community in lighting the Christmas tree in the Commons, and live music will be provided by the Twin Falls Municipal Band. Following the tree lighting, the public is welcome to have their picture taken with Santa, visit the many downtown retailers and restaurants, and skate on the new ice rink below the Christmas tree. Additional music will be provided by Music Monkey from 7:30 to 9 p.m. for skating and dancing in the Commons.
Main Avenue will be closed to parking and all vehicle traffic from 4 to 9 p.m. The following cross-streets will also be closed to vehicle traffic: Hansen Street, Shoshone Street, Gooding Street, Fairfield Street.
Additional trash receptacles will be placed along the parade route, and the public is reminded to properly dispose of garbage. Parade participants have been reminded to not throw candy or other items to children and spectators from parade floats. And parade spectators are reminded to not run into the parade route, especially young children who may try to retrieve candy.
Public restrooms are available at the stage building in the Downtown Commons.
