Vehicle Burglary Arrest

On August 9, 2018, at approximately 3:15 p.m. a juvenile male was arrested by Twin Falls Police Detectives for his involvement in a rash of vehicle burglaries that have been occurring in Twin Falls and throughout the Magic Valley. The primary items being stolen have been guns left inside vehicles overnight.  Detectives were able to recover a possible stolen handgun at the time of arrest, however, the owner of this particular handgun has not filed a police report yet regarding the missing item. Two other stolen guns were recovered after a search warrant conducted by Detectives at the juvenile’s residence.

If you are a resident of the Magic Valley and have left any weapons inside your vehicle overnight, please check to ensure it is still in your possession.  If you discover that you are missing any items from your vehicle that may have been taken during a burglary, please contact your local law enforcement agency to file a report.

Also, Twin Falls Police Detectives would like to encourage our community not to leave valuable items, particularly weapons, inside your vehicle overnight.  Lieutenant Terry Thueson said, "Taking a couple of minutes every night before bed to protect yourself and your property goes a long way in preventing crime."
