[ARCHIVED] Stolen Vehicle

On January 6, 2017, at approximately 6:30 AM Twin Falls Police Officers took a report of a stolen 2007 BMW 530 from 279 Monroe Street. The victim informed officers that Eric C. Hunter (born in 1979) had been staying with her at 279 Monroe Street and sometime during the night had taken her vehicle along with a large sum of money. At approximately 8:15 AM on January 6, 2017, Deputies from the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Department located the stolen BMW and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the 1800 block of Addison Avenue East. Hunter was driving the vehicle and subsequently arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle. Hunter was also found to have in his possession a large sum of money. Officers also located a shotgun hidden inside the stolen vehicle. Based on Hunter’s criminal record, it is unlawful for him to possess a firearm. Based on the circumstances of this case, Hunter was charged with two counts of grand theft as well as possession of a firearm by a prohibited felon.
