On Monday at approximately 12:12 pm. Twin Falls Police Officers were dispatched to Walmart reference to a report of a male adult that had been struck by a vehicle. The event occurred in front of Walmart where pedestrians cross the parking lot to enter the store. Officers arrived and found a 33-year old male, identified as Christopher M Stephenson had been struck and knocked to the ground by a vehicle driven by a 25-year old male, identified as Amir Zuheir Saad.
Initial statements indicated the occupants of the vehicles were yelling back and forth at each other prior to entering the Walmart parking lot. The vehicle in which Stephenson was riding contained two additional adults, identified as Jonathon Edward Meyers and Kara Lynn Fiscus. Saad was the lone occupant in his vehicle. Once inside the Walmart parking lot, Stephenson, Meyers and Fiscus parked their vehicle and approached Saad, while he was stopped waiting for other pedestrians to cross the parking lot to enter the store. Stephenson, Meyers and Fiscus began to challenge Saad to a fight, at which point Saad tried to pull away from the three aggressors. Stephenson stepped in front of the vehicle in an attempt to stop Saad from leaving and was struck and knocked to the ground. The events were confirmed by witnesses and video surveillance recordings.
Stephenson, Meyers and Fiscus were cited for disorderly conduct and released. Stephenson was transported to St. Lukes Magic Valley for treatment. Officers were able to develop grounds to believe Stephenson may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the event.
Saad was cited for driving without privileges and released.
