At approximately 9 p.m., on Tuesday, Jan. 5, Twin Falls police stopped a vehicle for running a red light at the intersection of Ketchum Street and Second Avenue. During the traffic stop, officers saw drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, which was being driven by Kirk Mullins, 52, of Twin Falls.
Officers asked Mullins numerous times to exit the vehicle, but he refused and later fled the scene traveling eastbound on Kimberly Road. Additional officers located Mullins in the area of Morningside Drive and Fourth Avenue.
Mullins fled the vehicle, with officers pursuing him on foot. Mullins continued refusing to comply with commands from officers to stop, so officers deployed a Taser to safely take him into custody.
He was charged with felony eluding, felony possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, felony possession with intent to deliver marijuana, felony destruction of evidence, and misdemeanor obstructing and delay.
No officers were injured in the incident. Mullins was checked by medical personnel, who cleared him for transport to the Twin Falls County Jail.
