[ARCHIVED] Expect Road Closures During Festival of Lights Parade

The Festival of Lights Parade, sponsored by the Times-News, will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4. The parade will be held on Main Avenue in Twin Falls and will require road closures to ensure the safety of participants and spectators.

The parade route will begin at the 500 block of Main Avenue East and will travel to the 500 block of Main Avenue North. The Twin Falls Police Department will close Main Street from the intersection of Main Avenue and Murtaugh Street to the intersection of Main Avenue and Castleford Street. Shoshone Street will also be closed between Second Avenue East and Second Avenue West.

Street closures will begin at 5 p.m. and will remain closed until the parade is completed and pedestrian traffic has safely dispersed.

The Twin Falls Police Department encourages drivers to be cautious while driving in the area, and to plan ahead when traveling through the parade area. Parents should monitor their children when the parade passes, as icy conditions can increase the chance of children falling and being injured by passing parade floats.
