[ARCHIVED] One Vehicle and One Body Recovered in Snake River Canyon

At approximately 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 12, the Twin Falls Police Department received a call from witnesses who reported a vehicle in the Snake River Canyon. When police arrived they found evidence that a white SUV-style vehicle had driven from the northeast corner of the Magic Valley Mall parking lot and into the Snake River Canyon.

The Twin Falls Police Department, Twin Falls County Sheriff's Office, and Twin Falls Fire Department's High Angle Rescue unit responded to the area. Emergency responders recovered one body, which detectives are working to identify.

Detectives do not yet know if anyone witnessed the vehicle driving into the canyon, nor do they know if it was intentional or accidental. Detectives secured the scene and are collecting evidence for the investigation.
