The Twin Falls Police Department is inviting citizens to join them for the 5th Annual National Night Out event, which will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4 at Twin Falls City Park. National Night Out is a fun opportunity for the community to visit with emergency responders, and to develop partnerships that make our neighborhoods a safe place to live.
National Night Out helps develop relationships between citizens and law enforcement, while also encouraging a sense of community by bringing police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. Throughout the nation, communities participating in National Night Out host block parties, festivals, cookouts and other events with safety demonstrations and exhibits by local emergency responders.
“This is really just a fun event where we can gather as a community and build those relationships among citizens and emergency personnel,” said Sgt. Dennis Pullin, Twin Falls Police Department.
Team members from Target — the largest sponsor of National Night Out — will provide activities for children. Hotdogs, snacks, and drinks will also be provided by local businesses at no cost.
The Twin Falls Police and Fire departments will host several activities and exhibits for the event, which include demonstrations of the Bomb Squad robot, patrol vehicles, and fire suppression vehicles. The Twin Falls Sheriff's Office, Twin Falls Fire Department, Idaho Fish and Game, Bureau of Land Management, United States Forest Service, College of Southern Idaho Law Enforcement, Idaho State Police, St. Luke’s Magic Valley Hospital Paramedics and the Idaho Meth Project will also host exhibits that demonstrate their critical roles in keeping citizens safe.
Please mark your calendars and plan on attending this fun and educational community event. For more information, contact Sgt. Pullin at 208-735-7363.
