The annual fireworks display will once again be held at the College of Southern Idaho at 10 p.m. on July 4. The display is expected to last approximately 30 minutes. Due to the large amount of vehicle and pedestrian traffic usually seen in the area, the Twin Falls Police Department asks the following:
- Please arrive early. The Police Department will begin closing sections of Falls Avenue from Washington Street North to Blue Boulevard North at 9 p.m. In addition, North College Road will be closed from Washington Street North and Blue Lakes Boulevard North at 7 pm. The road closures ensure the safety of pedestrians in the area.
- Please be patient. Several thousand people routinely attend the display and most of them drive to the event. It may take several minutes for the police to safely direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic off the campus. In addition, visitors may be routed in a different direction than they would normally travel. Visitors should expect delays and understand that safety is the City’s primary concern.
- Don’t drink and drive. During previous displays, traffic collisions have occurred as a result of impaired drivers. The area surrounding CSI will be heavily patrolled and all drivers suspected of DUI will be arrested.
