[ARCHIVED] Twin Falls Police Warn of Water Bill Scam

The Twin Falls Police Department is asking citizens to be aware of a potential scam in the area. There have been reports of callers identifying themselves as City employees calling from Utility Billing. The caller informs residents that their water bill is past due and then offers to take their payment information over the phone.

Please be advised that the City only contacts residents regarding delinquent water accounts through the mail. If you receive a phone call of this nature, Police are asking that you report the incident as soon as possible and remind citizens they should never offer any financial information over the phone.

Reports can be made to Utility Billing at 735-7250 or the Police Department at 735-4357.
