[ARCHIVED] TFPD Receive Third Report of Police Impersonator

On January 12, 2015, at 7:00 AM, Twin Falls City Communications Center received a phone call from a distraught female. She reported that at approximately 5:30 AM, she was walking near Harmon Park on Elizabeth Blvd, when a Caucasian male, 5'11", wearing a black beanie and grey jacket, pulled up in a black SUV vehicle, with red and blue dashboard style lights, and approached her. She stated that the male subject grabbed her and hit her in the face before she was finally able to run away.

On December 20, 2014, a female driver reported being pulled over by a male subject driving a black SUV, with red and blue dashboard lights, near the 1300 block of Washington Street South. She described the male subject as Caucasian, in his mid-30s, wearing a dark cap and a black or blue polo shirt. The male subject directed the female to step out of her vehicle. She declined and drove away to a friends house and called the police.

On December 15, 2014, 12:24 AM, a female motorist was traveling westbound in the 600 block of Park Ave. A black large SUV, possibly with Idaho license plates, was following the female motorist. The female motorist observed red and blue flashing lights on the dashboard of the black large SUV. The female driver pulled to the side of the roadway and stopped her vehicle. The female driver was approached by a white male subject, who asked her to step from her vehicle because she had been swerving. The male subject was identified as a Caucasian male, late 20's early 30's in age, 5’08”-5’11”, 160 lbs-180 lbs, clean shaven with black hair. The male subject was wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans. The female driver became suspicious of the male subject because he was wearing blue jeans and t-shirt. The female driver stated she was going to call 911 unless a uniformed officer arrived. The male subject then fled the scene, traveling westbound on Park Ave.

We as police officer’s understand the public’s concerns. Twin Falls Police Officer’s will utilize highly visible red and blue emergency lights, police sirens to effect a traffic stop. All Twin Falls Police Officer’s will have a police badge displayed on their person and will identify themselves by name upon contact.

If you are suspicious of any vehicle attempting to stop you, please drive to a lighted public place. Immediately, call the Twin Falls Police Department at 735-4357 or 311 and advise the dispatcher of your concerns. The dispatcher can confirm an actual police unit is the one attempting to stop you, or immediately send a police officer to your location.
