[ARCHIVED] Female Succumbs to Injury Sustained in Fall from Moving Vehicle

On 12/12/2014 at 19:45 hours, the Twin Falls Police Department was dispatched to a female who had fell from a moving vehicle in the 100 block of 7th Ave N. A 2002 Dodge Intrepid was traveling westbound on 7th Ave N with two 14 year old females, seated on top of the trunk, as the vehicle was in motion. Bailey Wallace, age 14, had fallen from the vehicle in motion and struck the asphalt. Wallace was transported to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City via Air St Luke’s and later succumbed to injuries sustained. The driver of the Dodge Intrepid, Anastasia Howes age 17, was charged with Careless Driving, I.C. 49-1401(3). During the investigation of the accident, the police had been advised of “rumors” that the females were “car surfing”. Officer Coronado states that through the course of his investigation there was no evidence produced to support this claim and the two females were seated on the trunk of the vehicle in motion.
