[ARCHIVED] School Is Back In Session, Please Slow Down In School Zones

The City of Twin Falls is reminding citizens that school is back in session starting today, and that drivers should slow down and use caution in all school zones.

In most cases the posted speed limit during school hours is 25 miles per hour, however, some school zones and crosswalks may have slower posted speeds. All drivers must yield to students or anyone crossing within a crosswalk, and they must stop when crossing guards enter the crosswalk to escort students safely across the street.

The City of Twin Falls Police Department is stepping up traffic enforcement in school areas to educate and enforce traffic laws around school areas. The City is doing this to protect our youngest citizens from injuries that can be prevented by obeying traffic laws and exercising caution while driving.

Please help us protect students by obeying the posted speed limits in school areas, yielding to students in crosswalks, and yielding to school buses that are stopped.
