The City of Twin Falls is pleased to announce that Brian Pike, Chief of Police of Twin Falls Police Department, will be awarded the highest certificate awarded to peace officers in Idaho. POST Division Administrator William L. Flink will present Pike with the Peace Officer Standards & Training Executive Certificate at 5 p.m. Monday, May, 12 at the Twin Falls City Council Chambers, in recognition of his training and service in the field of law enforcement.
Pike’s law enforcement career began as a student of the College of Southern Idaho law enforcement vocational program. He graduated in the fall of 1993, and shortly thereafter, was hired as a deputy for Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office. In October of 1994, he accepted a position with the Twin Falls Police Department.
During his career with the Twin Falls Police Department, he worked as a patrol officer, D.A.R.E. Officer, school resource officer, Gang Resistance Education and Training Officer, SWAT team member (sniper), and bicycle patrol. Pike was promoted to Corporal in October 1998, then to Sergeant in December 1998, where he supervised a patrol squad, narcotics unit and the traffic teams. In July 2004, he was promoted to Captain. During his tenure as Captain, he managed the patrol division and the administrative services division. Pike was appointed Chief of Police of Twin Falls Police Department on February 28, 2011.
Pike holds POST Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, Supervisor, and Management certification. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southwestern A/G University and an A.A.S. Degree from the College of Southern Idaho. He graduated in 2001 from the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety School of Police Staff and Command. Pike currently serves on the Region Five Behavioral Health Community Board and he was appointed by the State Governor’s office to the Idaho Public Safety and Security Information System Board (ILETS).
Pike resides in Twin Falls with his wife Robin. They have two children and enjoy cycling, hiking, and spending time outdoors.
