The Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Twin Falls Police Department are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who is believed to have burglarized several homes in Twin Falls County during the weekend of April 20.
During the weekend emergency dispatchers received reports from citizens about two residential burglaries in the area of Avenida Del Rio, as well as two other burglaries in the area of Arrowhead Path and Canyon Crest Drive West. At one of the locations the suspect failed to make entry into the home, but there were indications that the suspect was attempting to force entry into the home.
The suspect is believed to be using common hand tools to force open locked door knobs, gaining access to homes and then stealing valuable items such as credit or debit cards.
In one of the burglaries over the weekend, the suspect entered the garage and stole debit and credit cards. He then proceeded to Walgreens at 1732 Washington St. North and bought about $500 in gift cards. The suspect is believed to have then gone to the Walmart Supercenter at 252 Cheney Dr. West, where he purchased approximately $2,000 in gift cards and an iPad.
Detectives believe the suspect may have been a long-haul truck driver, possibly driving a silver or tan semi-truck with a white trailer that had no graphics on the sides. Detectives were able to obtain surveillance photos from the retailers, which show the suspects wearing an orange baseball cap and black jacket. The suspect is believed to be a white male with a thin to medium build.
Detectives say the suspect may have burglarized other homes in the area and are asking citizens to contact them if they saw any suspicious activity during the weekend, have seen a male individual matching the photo or description, or have reason to believe that they were burglarized. The Twin Falls Police Department and Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office are working together to identify the suspect and monitor the City and County to prevent the suspect from burglarizing more homes. Anyone with information should contact the Twin Falls Police Department at 735-4357 or Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office at 735-1911.
