[ARCHIVED] Twin Falls Fire Department To Begin Annual Hydrant Testing

The Twin Falls Fire Department will begin testing about 680 fire hydrants around the City of Twin Falls beginning in early April between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Testing is expected to last through the end of May.

Testing is done annually by the Twin Falls Fire Department on city hydrants to drain piping systems of any stagnant water and to clear debris from the waterway. This ensures proper flowing and safety regulations are in place.

The Twin Falls Fire Department and Twin Falls Water Department would also like to inform citizens that during this process you may notice a reduction in water pressure and possible discoloration of water. Citizens can be assured that this is only momentarily, and if you should experience any water discoloration, just allow your water faucet to run for a short period of time until the water returns to its normal state.

Please contact the Twin Falls Fire Department or the Twin Falls Water Department if you have any questions, comments or concerns.
