[ARCHIVED] Perrine and Hansen Bridges Reopened After Closure Due to Strong Winds

The City of Twin Falls Police Department has reopened the Perrine Bridge after assisting other agencies in closing both northbound and southbound traffic on the bridge, which was closed due to high winds and overturned semi trucks.

Strong winds blew two semi trucks onto their sides on the Perrine Bridge on Monday morning, blocking northbound and southbound lanes. Also, two trucks were tipped over by wind gusts on the Hansen Bridge, which is was closed to allow emergency crews to remove the vehicles.

Both incidents were believed to be caused by strong wind gusts. The National Weather Service issued a High Wind Warning for the City of Twin Falls and surrounding areas on Monday, March 17.

The City is encouraging semi trucks - especially those with empty trailers - to avoid or use caution while crossing the Perrine Bridge during periods of high winds.
