[ARCHIVED] Twin Falls Fire Department Responds to Restaurant Fire

The Twin Falls Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 645 Filer Avenue at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, August 24 after receiving a call from a citizen that flames could be seen from the roof of a restaurant.

When firefighters arrived on the scene they could see smoke and flames coming from the roof of Garibaldi’s Mexican Restaurant. Fire crews were able to control the fire in less than 10 minutes, however, the building suffered some fire and smoke damage.

The cause of the fire is being investigated with the assistance of the Twin Falls Police Department. The restaurant was closed at the time of the fire and there were no reports of injuries.

Police blocked Filer Avenue between Fillmore Street and Polk Street for about an hour.

The Twin Falls Fire Department will release more information when it becomes available.
