[ARCHIVED] Traffic Safety Commission Discusses Safety at Railway Crossing

The City of Twin Falls Traffic Safety Commission is evaluating the need for stop signs or crossing arms at the intersection of Minidoka Avenue and Commercial Avenue where a railway crossing is located.

Captain Anthony Barnhart advised the committee that there are currently no stop signs or crossing arms at the intersection across the tracks. He is looking into working with Eastern Idaho
Railroa, which operates the railway, to work on traffic safety at the intersection.

Barnhart is also working with Mike Sullivan, traffic safety engineer for the City of Twin Falls, who will evaluate the intersection and return with more with information at the next traffic safety committee meeting.
