Contractors with the City of Twin Falls will close Blue Lakes Boulevard between Kimberly Road and Fourth Avenue between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. beginning Sept. 11 through Sept. 23. Work will be conducted during the night to reduce the impact on daytime traffic. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the project area and use Hankins Road during construction — if possible.
The road closures are needed for crews to safely install a waterline extension in the area of Second Avenue and Third Avenue. Steel plates will be placed over excavated openings and trenches to ensure the safety of drivers while the road is open during the day.
During the nightly closures, traffic will be diverted to surrounding streets with signage directing traffic through detour routes. Residents and businesses on Second Avenue and Third Avenue between Ash Street and Murtaugh Street will have access during the project.
