[ARCHIVED] City Seeks Applicants for Twin Falls City Council Seat by Aug. 17

City Council Meeting

The City of Twin Falls is accepting applications beginning Wednesday, Aug. 3 through Wednesday, Aug. 17  from residents who would like to serve on the Twin Falls City Council. The Council is seeking one candidate to complete the remainder of outgoing councilman Shawn Barigar’s term.

Shawn Barigar, who served on the Twin Falls City Council for more than 14 years, resigned his seat to apply for the City of Twin Falls Economic Development Director position.

The Twin Falls City Council has started the process of seeking applicants for the open seat, and Idaho Code states that the Mayor has the authority to appoint a qualified candidate with the consent of the City Council. A qualified candidate is any person who is 18 years of age or older, is a United States citizen, and who has resided in the state and county at least 30 days prior to the election, and who is registered as required by law.

The individual will serve the balance of the City Council term, and may run for re-election in November 2023. Interested individuals should complete the online application (LINK) or send a letter of interested to:
