[ARCHIVED] Hankins Road Closure for Utility Installation and Road Widening

Slow Down Sign

Extreme Excavation will close Hankins Road between Fourth Avenue East and Ninth Avenue East in both directions starting Sept. 19 through Sept. 26. Contractors will be installing a sewer mainline to connect the new Eastern Sun Subdivision to City services and widening the roadway as part of the Hankins Road Widening Project that started earlier this summer.

Hankins Road between Fourth Avenue and Ninth Avenue will be closed to through traffic during the project. Traffic will be detoured around the project by using Fourth Avenue and Ninth Avenue. After Sept. 26, the traffic control plan will revert back to an alternating northbound and southbound lane with signal until paving is completed.

Drivers should avoid Hankins Avenue between Fourth and Ninth Avenues — if possible. When driving through any construction area, drivers should reduce their speed, follow all posted traffic controls, and yield to workers and equipment. Speeding fines increase in construction zones.

Questions about this project should be directed to Extreme Excavation at 208-544-7625.
