Customers enrolled in the City of Twin Falls’ Trash and Recycling Collection program are reminded that they can discard leaves, clippings, and small yard debris on their regularly scheduled pick-up day at no additional cost.
Leaves provide a great show in autumn, but they cause problems when they fall into the streets and gutters. Leaves can accumulate in stormwater drains and cause isolated flooding on city streets. Residents can help by removing fallen leaves from their property as well as adjacent streets and sidewalks.
Customers enrolled in the City Trash and Recycling Collection program can bag and discard leaves during their regularly scheduled pickup. Residents serviced by other trash collection services should check with their provider, as most offer a leaf collection service for a free or reduced rate.
“We appreciate residents helping us keep the storm drains free of leaves and debris,” said Jon Caton, Public Works Director. “It can be a pretty simple way to prevent road hazards or property damage. Simply bag it and place it next to your trash bin on your collection day.”
