[ARCHIVED] Auger Falls Gold Bug Pond Project Begins; Reconstruction to Improve Water Quality

AUGER FALLS PROJECT

Construction work on the Gold Bug Pond project at Auger Falls will begin during the week of September 20. The Gold Bug Pond, located just north of the Auger Falls Park parking lot, is a historic pond originally created to provide water for placer mining activities in the Auger Falls area.

The Twin Falls Canal Company, in a partnership with the City of Twin Falls, will be reconstructing the pond to help improve water quality in the Snake River using funds from a WaterSMART grant and a local match. Most work is anticipated to be completed this Fall. Heavy earthmoving equipment and trucks will be active in the area, so the public is urged to use caution at the park and to please stay away from construction activities.

If you have any questions, please contact Jason Brown at the Twin Falls Canal Company at 208-733-6731.
