Contractors with the City of Twin Falls will begin scheduled road maintenance in the Downtown Twin Falls area starting Wednesday, July 14 through Friday, August 6. The work will create delays, detours, and brief closures but is necessary to maintain the life and drivability of the roadway.
Beginning July 14, Emery, Inc. will begin Chip Seal Projects in the downtown portion of town. Shoshone Street, Addison Avenue East, and several streets to the south and east totaling more than 533,000 square yards of roadway will be chip sealed. Street lists, maps and chip seal information can be viewed on the City website here.
The work will require traffic restrictions, detours, and short closures of streets as the chip seal is placed. Work will take place from 7:30 a.m. to about 6 p.m.
Drivers should expect delays during the road maintenance projects, and are encouraged to avoid the project areas — if possible. Drivers should reduce speed and yield to workers or equipment when driving through the project areas.
Questions concerning the chip seal should be directed to Emery, Inc. at 208-733-3951.
