[ARCHIVED] City of Twin Falls Seeks Proposals for Activities that Promote Children’s Health

Twin Falls CTG

Attention nonprofits and organizations that strive to make Twin Falls a healthier community for its children – the City of Twin Falls wants your help.

The city is looking to launch and support activities that encourage healthy lifestyles for children. Local nonprofit organizations, as well as school districts and other government agencies, are invited to submit proposals for projects and programs that encourage children to be physically active or provide access to healthy, affordable foods.

These projects and programs will be funded by a Community Transformation Grant that Twin Falls received from the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health.

For the past year, a team of local community leaders from various organizations has been meeting, learning, and developing a plan on how to deploy the $250,000 grant within the community.

“We know there are many organizations that work every day to make our community a better and healthier place to live,” said City Council member Shawn Barigar, a member of the grant team. “We are excited to see what requests and proposals we receive.”

A meeting for organizations interested in applying will be held September 21, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Twin Falls City Hall, 203 Main Ave. East.

The period to submit proposals opens Oct. 1 and closes Oct. 31. Proposals should be between $5,000 and $50,000 for activities, projects and programs for the 2021 calendar year.
