Mark Thomson Selected as Street Superintendent for the City of Twin Falls

Mark Thomson

The City of Twin Falls is pleased to announce that Mark Thomson has been selected to serve as the Superintendent of Streets. Thomson will oversee the Street Department’s staff and operations, which includes the maintenance of more than 640 lane-miles of city streets.

Thomson joined the City more than 18 years ago as a machine operator for the Street Department and was later promoted to supervisor in 2009.

During that time he has been involved in department hiring; managing department employees; serving on the City’s Long-term Planning Committee; preparing department budgets; and maintaining fleets among other responsibilities. He is also a certified Road Master and Road Scholar through the Local Highway Technical Assistance Council. In his free time, Thomson enjoys spending time with his family, as well as hunting, camping, and coaching baseball.

The City conducted an internal search for Street Superintendent in August and selected Thomson, who had significant experience and training in street maintenance for the City.

“Mark has worked hard to prepare himself,” said Travis Rothweiler, Twin Falls City Manager. “And I have every confidence in his ability to build upon the leadership left by Dean Littler.”

Dean Littler, who served as the previous Street Superintendent, retired in August after 33 years of service with the City of Twin Falls. The City thanks Littler for his dedication and service to the City of Twin Falls.
