[ARCHIVED] Twin Falls Economic Development Launches Connect Downtown Business Series

Connect Downtown

The Twin Falls Economic Development office held the first Connect Downtown business event, August 5 at Twin Beans Coffee Company.

The inaugural event was part of a planned monthly series in which Twin Falls business owners are invited to discuss ideas, request feedback, solve problems and collaborate with peers to effectively start, grow or pivot their business.

“Connect Downtown allows downtown merchants to come together in a more meaningful way than traditional networking events,” said Twin Falls Economic Development Director Nate Murray. “It provides a space where business owners can share what they’re going through – the good and the bad – and learn from the experiences of their peers. It’s a way for them to kick off the workday feeling motivated and empowered to tackle the challenges they face.”

The first event was led by Kindsey Taylor, owner of The Brass Monkey in downtown Twin Falls. Taylor shared an overview of her business and brainstormed solutions to overcome current hurdles and push her business into the next phase of growth.

“It’s like having your own focus group,” said Taylor. “I think as a business owner, you sometimes feel like your business issues are isolated, and you’re surprised to learn how many concerns and issues are shared by other owners. Some may be going through the same battles, and some may have overcome them and now have a solution or answer to help you with.”

Connect Downtown is free and scheduled to be held the first Wednesday of each month at 9:00am MST. For location and additional details, follow Grow With Twin Falls at www.facebook.com/TwinFallsEconomicDevelopment or email Nate Murray at nmurray@tfid.org
