[ARCHIVED] Chip Seal Work to Begin in Northeast Twin Falls; Residents to Be Notified With Door Flyers

Slow Down Sign

Beginning Thursday, July 9, Emery, Inc. will begin resurfacing streets in the northeastern part of town. This project, which will involve chip sealing, is expected to be completed Monday, July 13.

The resurfacing work will require traffic restrictions, detours, and brief closures of streets as the chip seal is placed. Chip seal is applied by spraying a heavy coating of emulsified asphalt oil onto a road surface and then covering the oil with rock. Rollers then embed the rock into the oil, forming a new wearing course that extends the life of the roadway.

Work will take place between approximately 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Citizens are asked to avoid the areas of work and to use alternate routes during chip seal placement. Citizens are also asked to slow down in and around the project areas. Citizens will be notified at least 24 hours in advance of any resurfacing work on their residential streets.

Door flyers will be used to notify citizens and a list of streets to be chip sealed can be viewed here [LINK].

If you have any questions concerning this project, please contact Emery, Inc. 208-733-3951.
