Dear Citizens of Twin Falls,
On Monday, March 23, 2020 at 10 a.m. the Twin Falls City Council will consider issuing a Declaration of Local Disaster Emergency. The document is available on the City’s website at www.tfid.org. Please know that this decision will not be made in haste or without cause.
This declaration allows the City of Twin Falls to more efficiently allocate funds to combat COVID-19; gain access to Federal and State emergency funds; and further reduce costs to the citizens of Twin Falls by limiting the liability of taking these actions.
At this time the City is asking all citizens to follow the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and our Governor.
• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
• Limit close contact with other people.
• Clean your hands with soap and water often. If soap is not available use hand sanitizer and then wash as soon as possible.
• Stay home if you are sick, except to get medical attention. Please call before arriving at a doctor’s office or the hospital.
• Cover coughs and sneezes. Use tissues. If not available cover with your arm and not your hands.
• Throw all used tissues into the trash.
• Clean and disinfect all frequently touched surfaces daily.
• Avoid gathering in groups larger than 10.
• CLEAN YOUR HANDS OFTEN and do not touch your face, mouth, nose, or eyes.
We know that this can be a time of anxiety and stress. We want you to protect yourselves and your families to the best of your ability. In these unprecedented times there is no way to stop all of the disruptions to our daily lives. We need to pull together and care for each other. It has been amazing to read of all the selfless acts of kindness that have been happening everyday in our city. Keep up the greatness that sets Twin Falls apart from the rest of the world.
