[ARCHIVED] City Wood Waste Recycling Facility Is Open

The City of Twin Falls Wood Waste Recycling Facility is open for the 2012 summer season.

The facility, located at 987 Rose Street, is open each Saturday from 2 to 7 p.m. until Aug. 25, and from 12 to 5 p.m. until Oct. 27.

Citizens can dispose of any clean wood waste free of charge. Acceptable materials include: unpainted lumber, pallets, tree limbs up to 32 inches in diameter, leaves, shrubs and wood shingles. Items that are not acceptable include: wood treated with creosote, painted wood, stumps with significant earth matter, logs or limbs over 32 inches in diameter and waste from commercial activities.

The purpose of the wood waste recycling facility is to reduce the amount of landfill material by converting yard and wood wastes into material suitable for alternative uses. The chipped wood waste will be available for anyone on a first come, first serve basis.

Only City of Twin Falls residential households are eligible to participate in this no-cost program. Citizens are asked to bring a copy of their water bill to verify proof of residency.
