[ARCHIVED] Expect Lane Closures During Signalization Project at Washington St. and Caswell Ave.

Traffic Signal

Expect intermittent lane closures at the intersection of Washington Street North and Caswell Avenue beginning Monday, July 22 through Monday, Sept. 30. Contractors with the City of Twin Falls will be installing conduit for new traffic control signals at the intersection.

Contractors will close one lane at a time to bore across the roadway, so drivers should expect intermittent lane closures. Thru access will be maintained during the project, but will at times be limited to one lane in each direction. The westbound lane on Caswell Avenue will be closed beginning Monday, July 22 through Monday, Aug. 5 to install new curb, ramp, and gutter that is ADA accessible.

Boring and trenching for the new conduit is expected to take up to two months to complete, and the new traffic signal will be installed shortly thereafter. The new signal is expected to improve awareness and safety for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians at the intersection.

Additional traffic controls will be in place during the project, and drivers are asked to remember the following: reduce driving speed before approaching the project area; please do not use cell phones or other devices while driving; and provide extra space between vehicles and workers.

Questions regarding the signalization project should be directed to Robin Hite, City of Twin Falls Traffic Technician, at 208-735-7254.
