Effective January 1 , 2009, all users of City of Twin Falls fire hydrant meters are required to pay a $1,400.00 refundable deposit plus a $100.00 non-refundable permit fee. Out of the refundable deposit, $900.00 covers the cost of the water meter and $500.00 is allocated for meter maintenance and water usage. The deposit and permit fee may be paid online through Access Idaho with a credit card or E-check for an additional processing fee or in the office via check. Please mail or hand deliver checks to: City of Twin Falls Water Department, 119 South Park Ave W, Twin Falls, ID 83301.
At the end of the year, customers will be required to return the meters to the Water Department by December 30 for maintenance, calibration, and to account for the customer’s water usage. **This process must be done every year.**
Upon return of the meter on or before December 30 , the $1,400.00 deposit will be applied to the amount due for water usage with any remaining amount refunded in the form of a check.
NOTE: When the fire hydrant is in use it must be turned all the way on and when the fire hydrant is not in use it must be turned all the way off.
