Department Description:
The Planning and Zoning Department has three areas of responsibility:
(1) To help plan growth within the community and the City\'s Area of Impact, to administer the Comprehensive Plan and Title 10 of the Twin Falls City Code. The implementation of these include advising the City Manager, the City Council, the City Planning and Zoning Commission, and the public regarding the issues relating to land use and planning and zoning regulations of the City. The department reviews building permit requests and investigates and seeks resolution of zoning complaints.
(2) The Department works with other departments and Region IV Development Associations in seeking certain Federal and State grants.
(3) The Department is responsible for receiving all tort claims submitted to the City, for implementation of loss-prevention program and for purchase of insurance policies.
