Function
The Twin Falls City Council is the governing body of the community, functioning similarly to the board of directors of a large corporation.

Responsibilities
All functions of city government fall within the purview of the City Council. The Council enacts laws and
ordinances, establishes policies and levels of service, adopts the
budget, sets the tax rate and establishes fees for services.
The mayor is elected by the City Council, presides at all Council meetings, and is considered the official representative of the city.
