Baxter's Park
The Magic Valley Canine Social Club and the City of Twin Falls has joined together to develop the community 1st dog park. The location is at the northeast corner of Blake Street North and Shoup Avenue West, directly west of the St. Luke’s Canyon View Hospital.
Fund raising efforts are underway to make this dream into a reality for the community’s dog lovers.  They have been two large donors to start this effort, but other funds are needed to accomplish the goal of construction this spring or summer.  Funds are being channeled to the Twin Falls Community Foundation so donors can receive a tax credit.

Construction on the City’s first dog park is underway.  Twin Falls Parks’ department crew has been leveling the site to get it ready for the irrigation system to be installed and working on the parking lot along Shoup Avenue West.  After the irrigation system is completed, the fencing will be installed by volunteers led by County Commissioner Leon Mills.  Once the fencing is completed, the seeding will take place.

Estimated time for the ribbon cutting/grand opening for the park is June of 2014.  This will allow the grass to take hold and be ready for the dogs to play.

If you would like to hear more about this effort, please contact the Twin Falls Parks & Recreation Department at 208-736-2265 or if you wish to donate to the cause, please visit the Twin Falls Community Foundation website.
