The City of Twin Falls Street Department is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all city streets, alleys and rights of way. These responsibilities include:
  • Grading and dust guarding of all gravel streets and alleys
  • Major and minor roadway repair
  • Plowing / sanding / deicing
  • Pothole patching
  • Roadway marking
  • Signals
  • Signs
  • Sweeping of all city streets and blacktop alleys

The Street Department places cones and barricades for parades and other community events.  We will also put up temporary stop signs and other traffic control devices for signal light outages. When the city roadways are littered with tree limbs and debris after extreme weather occurs, the Street Department will clean up the mess. All these activities are performed to ensure public safety and to meet the public’s general expectations for service.

Area of Responsibility
The Street Department is currently responsible for approximately 243 miles of center line and 630 lane-miles of city streets.
