Department Links![]() Department Description: The Twin Falls Fire Department provides fire protection for the City of Twin Falls and the surrounding Fire District from a main fire station, 2 substations and an airport station. This coverage encompasses approximately 75 square miles. The department has 41 regular employees consisting of a fire chief, administrative assistant, 3 battalion chiefs, 9 captains, 12 driver/operators and 15 fire fighters. Major equipment includes a 102 foot aerial platform pumper, 3 Mainline pumpers and 1 reserve pumper, 3 Brush trucks, an Oshkosh ARFF truck, Hazmat Operations Trailer, Rescue vehicle and two 3,000 gallon water tenders. In October of 1999, the City was awarded an I.S.O. fire rating of 3. The primary focus of the Department is public fire safety education, fire prevention, fire inspection and fire suppression. In 2007 to the Department responded to approximately 1583 incidents within the City, 227 incidents in the District and 1499 aircraft standbys and deversions. The Department has put Automatic External Defibrillators on all Mainline Engines. The Twin Falls Fire department does assist the Magic Valley Regional Medical Center when requested. On June of 2007, the Twin Falls Fire Department manned the Airport Fire Station full time with a driver operator. ![]() Class…now if they can just extricate themselves from the group photo.
