The Twin Falls Fire Department provides fire protection for the City of Twin Falls and the surrounding Fire District from a main fire station, two substations and an airport station. This coverage encompasses approximately 75 square miles.

The department has 42 regular employees consisting of a Fire Chief, Administrative Assistant, Fire Marshal, 3 Battalion Chiefs, 9 Captains, 12 Driver/Operators and 15 Firefighters.

Major equipment includes a 102 foot aerial platform pumper, three mainline pumpers, one reserve pumper, three brush trucks, an airport Oshkosh ARFF vehicle, Hazardous Materials Operations Trailer, Rescue vehicle and two 3,000 gallon water tankers.

In October of 1999, the City was awarded an I.S.O. fire rating of three. The primary focus of the department is public fire safety education, fire prevention, fire inspection and fire suppression.

In 2007 the department responded to approximately 1583 incidents within the City, 227 incidents in the Rural Fire Protection District and 1499 aircraft standbys and deversions.

The Department has put automatic external defibrillators (AED's) on all mainline fire engines. The Twin Falls Fire department does assist the Magic Valley Regional Medical Center when requested.
