These tiles are the result of a collaborative adventure between the Millennium Art Project and Kids Art in the Park. With encouragement and direction from Ted Clausen and local artists Chris Bolton and Karen Fothergill a number of kids were inspired to hand paint these tiles with images representing their personal views of the land around Twin Falls.

These tiles will have a permanent home in the terminal of the Magic Valley Regional Airport for the enjoyment of all who make this a stop along their travels.

A Century of Flight
"Successful four flights Thursday morning-all against twenty-one mile wind-started from level with engine power alone." These were the telegraphed words Orville Wright, a simple bicycle builder from Ohio used to describe one of the most important achievements of our time - man's first powered flight. With this historical 12 seconds at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, Orville and his brother Wilber led the world into the 20th century - a century of innovation and discovery.

In celebration of this century of flight, the Magic Valley Regional Airport and Magic Valley Arts Council present this 3-panel mural to the citizens of the Magic Valley and to those traveling here. Painted by students at the Southern Idaho Learning Center and the Twin Falls Juvenile Probation Center under the leadership of artist Lillie Brown, it marks where flight started, current trends in flight and the student's perception of where flight will take us.

Presented September 25, 2003 - Made possible with a generous grant from The Fred Meyer Foundation.
