City of Twin Falls Narrows Search for Next Fire Chief

The City of Twin Falls has identified six candidates to move forward as finalists in the selection of the next Twin Falls Fire Chief.

The candidates were selected from a pool of 32 applicants from 17 states that include: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia, and Washington.
A selection team comprised of firefighters, council, and city staff interviewed 10 of the 32 applicants via video conference in December. From the 10 applicants, six candidates were selected to begin in-person interviews for the formal selection process that will begin the second week of January.
The candidates who have been selected to move forward are:

·         Steve Standridge – South Metro Fire Department, Denver, Colo.
·         Frank Poyner – Washington State Fire Marshal’s Office
·         Steve Donahue – Caldwell Fire Department
·         Les Kenworthy – Mercer Island Fire Department, Mercer Island, Wash.
·         Joe Grainger – Stafford County Virginia Fire and Rescue
·         Michael Callahan – Chicago Fire Department
