Customer Services Open in New City Hall; Grand Opening Date Announced

The City of Twin Falls has completed the transition of its departments from a temporary location to the new Twin Falls City Hall located at 203 Main Avenue East. Departments such as Utility Billing, Human Resources, and City Manager are now available in the new City Hall by accessing the main entrances on Main Avenue and Hansen Street.
City staff began moving departments into the new City Hall on Oct. 25 and are expect to complete the transition in mid- to late-November. In an effort to reduce project costs and not disrupt customer services, the city scheduled a tiered move to the new City Hall as construction is completed. Building Inspection, Planning and Zoning, and Engineering will begin moving from their previous location at 324 Hansen Street East to the new City Hall on November 14.
Departments that were located at the previous City Hall, which has been repurposed into a new Public Safety Campus for Police and Fire Departments, were temporarily moved to 103 Main Avenue East during the construction project. The city saved about 9 percent on construction costs by moving some of its services to temporary locations.
“Staff is working expeditiously to move resources to the new City Hall, but the process is very careful and deliberate to prevent disrupting services,” said Travis Rothweiler, Twin Falls City Manager. “We’re pleased that the construction and transition are on schedule and happy to announce a Grand Opening Celebration and tree lighting that will be held in conjunction with the Festival of Lights Parade on Friday, December 1. It will be a great opportunity to celebrate the opening of this public building with the community who helped make it possible.”
The Grand Opening Celebration will start with public tours of the new City Hall beginning at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1. The event will be followed by a tree lighting, music performed by students from Twin Falls schools and the kick-off of the Festival of Lights Parade on Main Avenue.
