City Streets Damaged By Winter Storm to Be Reconstructed; Expect Delays and Detours

The City of Twin Falls is beginning several major roadway reconstruction projects to repair badly damaged roads caused by the extreme winter.

Beginning Thursday, July 13, 2017, Kloepfer Inc. will begin to reconstruct multiple sections of roadway, including: Sophomore Blvd, Crest Ave, Butte Dr, Walnut St N, the C3 Access Rd, and Bitterroot Dr (Madrona to Mt. View).

This work will include full depth reconstruction of the existing roads, followed by new base and asphalt layers.  Prior to that work, small sections of curb and gutter, some valley gutters and some ADA ramps will also be replaced.  The project also includes replacement of old water services for adjacent properties and select fire hydrants along Bitterroot Dr.

In order to keep disruptions to residents to a minimum, once the contractor begins working on one of the roadways, work will continue on that section until it is completed.

Access will be very limited throughout construction, as the entire road will be replaced.  However, the contractor has been instructed to provide 24-hour notice prior to any major access or utility disruption. Residents will be able to access their homes each night.  The contractor will work with residents throughout the construction process to keep them informed as the work progresses.  Work at all locations is scheduled to be completed by October 13, 2017.  Questions regarding the project can be directed to Kent McKenzie of Kloepfer, Inc. at (208) 734-3924.

The City of Twin Falls asks that citizens to be patient as the work progresses.
